Long story short, my boyfriend told me that we can host Christmas this year if we took out a wall and added more seating. The way out house is laid out, we don’t have room for any sort of table, so anyone who comes over is squished in these two little bar stools. But, we realized that if we took out the wall between the kitchen and the living room, we could actually add 4 more bar stools! That means everyone in my family can come over, and Christmas dinner is TOTALLY happening!

We got a piece or live oak wood in Plymouth. We found the guy on Facebook Marketplace, drove up to his place, and his garage was filled with dozens and dozens of wood. We found the one that “spoke” to us and bought it off of him for only $60! What a steal. Rob got home that day and started the sanding process.

After it was all sanded, we bought this epoxy glue that was super duper fancy. It’s ones that you’d find on a bar top. We got it at Home Depot for about $75. This stuff is legit and it came out GREAT. If you buy it though, definitely read the directions.

After demoing the dry wall we had Julian Construction out of Weymouth come in and make sure all of the walls were securing and that all of the correct weight baring things were in place. (We needed them for sure!)

After they were done working their magic, I bought these really pretty things to put under the wood. I totally forget what they’re called but it’ come to me someday. Brackets?

The finished product is amazing!! I painted it, we put the bar top in, and all I need now are some more bar stools! These ones I brought with me from Nashville. But I think we are going to get different ones from WayFair.

Hope you like the finished project!! Check out all of the pictures below!

Other great Wayfair finds: Queen mattresses, washer and dryer sets, wood bed frames, full-length mirrors, wine refrigerators, the Sunsetter brand (especially their awnings), and smokers
