I went to see Ayla perform at the Topsfield Fair last night, and it was just amazing. She sang all of her new country songs, including some newer ones. There was one that she wrote about when she and her boyfriend broke up, and it was so powerful because of all the pure emotions in it.
She also covered Miranda Lambert "New Strings" and "White Liar," Brooks and Dunn "Aint Nothing About You," Toby Keith "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue," and Fleetwood Mac "Go Your Own Way."

Overall it was a great show; her voice is so strong, and she sounds great singing country music. :clappy:

That's awesome that you got to go! I was on the west coast for business travel unfortunately, but it's so good to hear the show went on and you had a good time. I was a little nervous the weather wouldn't hold up, but I'm so glad it did. I don't know if I heard the song she wrote about breaking up with her boyfriend, but one of the new ones I heard her perform recently was one she wrote about 9/11, which was really moving.

I can't believe she sang "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" - I definitely have to see that live! And she's always incredible on "Go Your Own Way."

Here's an interview she did on NECN's "Morning Show" the day before:

Also, I forgot to mention that Ayla played the mandolin!!! It's so cool to see her performing with new instruments :clappy: I feel like she's come so far so quickly. I mean, it really hasn't been very long since she decided to go country, has it?

This is a somewhat stupid question, but which song is the one about 9/11? I feel like I've heard it, but I'm not sure...

Anddd...do we know when all of these amazing new songs are going to become a CD or downloadable something of sorts?? I want to be able to listen to them over and over again haha :)

Wow, the mandolin? That's pretty special. Yeah, Ayla really only decided to go country about a little over a year ago I believe...I think summer 2010? And I don't remember what the 9/11 song is called, but I should haha.

And that's a good question about when we might get recordings, I'm hoping it's sooner than later. I guess it all depends on whether Ayla is able to get a record deal soon, or she could always decide to release more material independently like she did "Goodbye For Good". But yeah, I wish we had some studio versions right about now!
