sorry your daughter got sick Jim... its tuff staying in parent mode when your doing something you want to do and then.. whammmm!!! those lil eyes looking up at you and they take over and remind you who you are...

^^ thanks for explaining the sub thing so well. You actually made it so me.. a non sports person... understands. too bad bout the game.. maybe a few of the girls were somewhat nursing injuries?

Kudos for Ayla for showing her stuff and great job Liz and Jen and Mike for supportin the team and our gal.

hey im glad it made sense cause its kinda hard to explain over the comp i could easily just explain it if i were talking.

omg there were a lot of subs http://livestats.bceagles.collegesports.co...3/gt_index.html if u click play by play it shows you all the subbing at the end of th game

Coming from a hockey background, this is probably somewhat correct but...
to answer the question about the subs at the end..
I don't believe it is because a sub is good at defense, or offense or anything like that.
we used to do this in games when it was close to the end, and the score was tie, or close. we would send in players to purposefully get penalties and stop the play however possible if there was threat, in Hockey you get sent to the penalty box, you don't want your best men in the penalty box.. basketball you can foul out, so when the end of the game is near, and the score is close like that, you send in the subs, and the "b" players to commit the fouls, and stop the play, and risk the foul shot being missed, this way play is stopped, they take the foul shot, and you put your good players back in when you get the ball back. The subs were in there simply to foul the other team whenever they get the ball.
The coach knows what she's doing in that department... I just think Harvard had some really good smaller, quicker players, Kathy I. should have replied with the same...Ress looked like she was in slow motion out there, I would have benched Ress the last ten minutes of the game, she was useless out there. and put in smaller faster players, subs or not...
Ayla was doing 9/10ths of the leg work out there for sure...definitely an off night for most of the ladies

It was still great watching them play, they are really good, I was impressed with the Lady Eagles, though if I was the coach.....they would've been back in the locker room with the projector running, then back on the court after the mens game!!!

Is the part that really kills me. And thanks for the explanation, Jim. I'm personally a Baseball fan first then soccer, hockey, football, basketball (although I cannot stand the Celts)
