My mom called WalMart and KMart while I was at school, and they both didn't have it. She's gonna go tomorrow and pick me up some other stuff...and check of course!

I have to say that I was out this morning buying Forward and I was the first to buy it in the FYE near my house. There wasn't a promotional thing either for me to know they had it. I'm so use to going in there or the Strawberries near my house and seeing the cds I am getting right as you walk in the door under the NEW MUSIC section and this morning it wasn't there. The manager was there and asked if she could help me find anything and the minute I mentioned Ayla Brown she told me it was in the B section for Brown. I said well I never checked over there because I figured it would be with all the other cds that came out today and she said she didn't understand why it wasn't when they put the cds out last night. I said well then I can bet that she would get asked if they have the cd alot then because alot of people look under new music she said she was going to move them so she doesn't get asked all day. Whether or not she did I don't know.

Welcome to the forum, Jessica. Thank you for letting us know the situation. Yeah, it would help if the album was in the new releases, but it sounds like none of them are located in that section. I wonder why, because it is a new release. Hmm...

Couldn't find Ayla's "Forward" at the Walmart in Falmouth, MA 02540 (nor Sarah McLachlan's "Wintersong" for that matter). I'll try again or somewhere else.

but its a new release, why isn\'t Fye putting it in the new release section? Isn\'t there something wrong with that Jim and Wayne????We need Ayla next to JoJo the next few weeks.

With albums like ours it is up to the store manager to decide how to merchandise it. They could put it on a new release display. Some of their instore display space is purchased by the labels, so that may be why she was not allowed to put it in a specific place.

If you go into a store and it\'s not in the new releases, you could politely ask the manager why, followed by..you expected to find it there. some of them will cooperate and put it there, and like wayne said these spots are bought up sometimes. we did not do a co-op dollars plan with Transworld, we did infact do this will walmart, and best buy, so in these stores you will see more signage.

Just got back from scouting a few stores in the Walpole area.

Fye: It was there!!!!! So fun to see Ayla\'s name on one of those little white strips and a stack of cd\'s.. wait till the rest of you see that, its very exciting.12.92 Walpole Mall. It was not on the New Release section. I asked the clerk why cause its a new release shouldn\'t it be there. The answer was that they receive a planner which tells them how to place the cd\'s and the planner did not specify to put the Ayla Brown cd there. I left her some stickers to hand out to people buying the cd or just coming into the store. 8 cds left there!!!

Barnes and Nobles, Walpole: Didn\'t have it yet but the woman had called the distributors or whoever on her own and was expecting the shipment tomorrow and has every intention of placing the cd, I believe, front and center on the cash register counter.. so.. that will be awesome.. I left some stickers although she was uncertain if she was able to hand them out.

Walmart, Walpole: Interesting experience there. Ran into the CD Reps whose job it is to go from store to store actuallly all the regional Walmarts and Kmarts and was told that they weren\'t yet given the cd to place on the racks. It was their impression that at least as far as they knew for Walmart and Kmart that the cd release was held back. I gently disputed that with them and handed them some stickers and told them people had bought it in other places in the country. I left them smiling about Ayla\'s story and eager to see how her cd does. So.. just to save gas, if you were heading over to any Walmart or Kmart for this purpose, perhaps you want to wait a few days before checking again.

Thanks for the report, Susan. My mom went to the f.y.e. in Lawrence today (she said they had about 10 left) and bought a copy. She asked me why it wasn\'t in the new release section, and I told her what you had said (about it not being on the planner). She said there were no signs or anything advertising it.

She said she may go to Walmart tomorrow and ask them if it will be in the new releases section when they finally get it.

the FYE at my other mall is MUCH nicer (i made friends with the manager because of idol stuff haha!) so hopefully he'll let me put it in the new release section...im gunna go down there today or friday

Great reports from everyone, thanks. Spoke to an inside source at Best Buy headquarters today, and according to their systems, all shipments should be hitting stores in the next day or so. Thousands of additional units are in transit to the Wal*Mart stores in the Northeast as we speak, so you should be finding it there in quantity in the next day or so as well! Keep up the great reporting, it's helping us out a ton. Most large companies have employees around the country who check stores and do this, so everyone at Double Deal appreciates the help you all are providing, as we don't have a national store staff like that! All the info you are providing is going right back to our dozen sales reps around the country, who are following up daily to get more units into stores you guys are pointing out to us.

Yeah as Jen said, we've made friends with the manager and employees at FYE in CT through other Idol stuff so we'll see what we can do as far as getting her into the New Releases or just giving them stickers or something.

The FYE here seemed really favorable about the CD when I (finally) went to buy it today

Out of curiosity, about how many copies were left when you bought yours?

I pre-ordered Forward on Amazon.com, that was a joke. I paid for two-day shipping it released yesterday and it said "Estimated Delivery Date October 19" Now it says October 24-25. I think im just gonna cancel the order and just go buy it in walmart or bestbuy i cant wait another week when i paid for two-day shipping.

My estimated delivery date from Amazon, with expedited shipping, is November 3. Yes, it's international, but still, things I've gotten from Amazon in the past have been much quicker. But I don't have any other places to get it from up here, so I'll have to delay gratification till then.

They had only gotten in a few (I believe the guy said three or four), and there didn't appear to be any left anywhere, so I'm taking that as a good sign The different people I talked to there seemed really upbeat and knowledgable about the CD

I went to my local Walmart down here in North Carolina, and it wasn't there. I figured it would be harder to find since I'm not in the Northeast. I know some people up north that I'm sure can send it to me though.
