Each week will feature a different children's program and adult concert. Next week will feature Shelly Tenaglia's Dragon Gymnastics and the Infractions Band; children's DJ Mike Rutkowski and the Franklin School for Performing Arts will take the stage July 21; Rob Peters the Bubble Man and the Roy Scott Swing Band will stop by July 28; storyteller Elaine Kessler and the Frank Padula Band will provide entertainment Aug. 4 and "American Idol" contestant Ayla Brown will cap off the summer series on Aug. 18.
"We have a wonderful lineup for this summer, and we even have Ayla Brown still. We're thankful to get her now that she's graduated," committee member Anne Covell said.
Covell said the concerts always draw a large crowd, but Brown has a way with the audience.
"Ayla Brown gets everybody going. (The kids) love her. They sing with her, and she gets them up on stage. She really works with them," she said.
Covell said she doesn't know if Brown's father, U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, R-Mass. , will attend this year.
"He's a little bit busier than he was last year," she said with a laugh.
