Unfortunately this event is just about sold out, and very, expensive.
pretty much for BC students, family, friends.
Ayla's family has been invited to sit up front with the president of BC,
like in the $25,000 section...
this is a huge, huge event for Ayla.
having the BSO agree to do her song "forward" is also an amazing achievement on our part. it's taken a giant amount of work and non-stop negotiations.
unfortunately we can not film it or record it. we would have to pay the orchestra another 25,000-30,000 dollars to use it. as well as have many other AFM contracts in place, this can not be done right now. we tried.
nothing is stopping anyone from filmimg it and putting it on u-tube though, there's nothing anyone can do about that, we just can't use it commercially.
atleast around 15,000 people will be fans of "Forward" by the end of the performance!!

It's looking like it is pretty close to sold out, wayne and Myself will be attending as guests, could end up in the nose bleed section, depends on what Scott can do for us......we'll see and we will let everyone know how it went....

so any BC students out there that are going....Enjoy.... maybe see ya there.

Alright, sorry but I am quite confused. I am looking at the AB.com site this moring and I see Pops for last nights event. The above post says it was with the BSO. I am also postive I saw BSO on the AB.com site previously. I was watching the local Mass. news this morning and saw the BSO opened their season last night, but no mention of Ayla. So what I am asking is who did she actually perform with last night, The Pops or the BSO?. I mentioned in the letter I wrote to her recently about the BSO event, now I feel like a twit if I mentioned the wrong orchestra. Either way any feedback yet on how things went last night?

The Pops are a subdivision of the BSO, I think. I think last night's concert was BSO, but the Pops were part of it.

Someone who knows, is that right?

I guess the Pops are a less formal version on the Symphony, there are less instruments, or something like that. I had to look up some info after my panic attack. Looks like sometimes the two names are interchanged.
I am sure that whichever Orchestra Ayla performed with she was great.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra makes up the Boston Pops, they use the name in conjuntion with events.
The event was the Boston Pops at the Heights, basically it was the BSO performing, under the name of the Boston Pops.

It was a stunning event!!
Ayla's performance was simply amazing!
Her performance of "Forward" completely broke up the entire show, it was soooo different than the rest of the program...
there were two broadway singers that took turns singing before Ayla, they were performing common, well known broadway songs. Ayla was introduced by Keith Lockhart, he really plugged her CD, talked about the release date, talked about her singles rising on the charts, and ofcourse.. idol, and her basketball achievements, it was awesome...
During "Forward" the orchestra behind her was breathtaking.
She sang flawlessly..received an amazing ovation, briefly left the stage, turned back around and came back up, gave another bow, and a wave while the crowd still cheered.
over 15,000 people as well as Ayla's peers got a taste of what Ayla can do on stage. She definately acquired many, many new fans...
Overal.... totally amazing!!!

I will post some pics soon.

Jim, this is outstanding news. I knew Ayla would not disappoint, and to think all this was organized in so little time. I'm looking forward to the pictures.

no they are not playing her song, they are using the same logo as the title of the album....
at the end of all thier commercials now (Forward>) pops up...
it looks just like the CD.....with the > after the word...kinda funny....
it plants the seed though, thats all we need.....
