Single Release Delayed

Just to keep everyone in the loop, we have delayed the itunes release of the singles until next week. We need all first week sales to hit at the same time so as to maximize the SoundScan sales for the single. If we released the digital singles tomorrow, we would end up spliting those sales into a different week than the sales Ayla will have this weekend at The Big E. Sorry to delay the release a week, the ordering will go live for the single tomorrow on Amazon, so you can still order it, and it will be delivered next week. Thanks!

that's SOOO disapointing...i was really looking forward (no pun intended...lol) to it coming out . so next tuesday (9-18-06) it'll be out or what?? (like in the stores such as wal mart, target, etc.?)

Thanks Wayne. But won't the Big E count for this week? Since the soundscan week ends Sunday I believe...

Will it still go for adds on radio tomorrow?

Is their any differnece from the singles Ayla sent to the peopel who requested them and stores? But the ones we have are signed by her and are priceless!

That is actually quite exciting! No one should be dissapointed because this lil wait can really enhance her release. Something worthwhile is worth waiting for.. so be patient everyone.. whats one more week to make sure something is done in the most beneficial way.

This physical single, with the two tracks and the artwork Mike has posted will only be available at The Big E and at Amazon.com for now. This is a pre-release item only. Those of you who ordered a single directly from Ayla are getting the rare, limited to 1000 copies studio bootleg edition of KYB and I Quit direct from Ayla's first recording sessions.

The digital single, available on itunes and all other digital distributors, should appear next week, and will include three singles, with "Forward." The bonus song will only be available on line until October 17th, when the album comes out. You will also be able to purchase only the songs you want as well, you don't have to but all three (but you'll want to, trust me!)

This delay is a good thing, as I explained to Mike, because most of her SoundScan sales will now appear in the same reporting week, which will alow Ayla to chart higher.

More updates soon, the album packaging is now done, and looks really great, Ayla loves it! I'll get Mike the final album cover soon, and any other logos, art and stuff you guys need to create banners, avatars, etc. Keep spreading the word!

Excellent news. If Ayla's happy with everything, then that means we're all set. That's a good idea to limit 'Forward's availability online until the album comes out. That way, there won't be two different versions charting on iTunes at the same time. Also, it is important to keep in mind that when you buy the single on iTunes by using the 'buy album' option, it will count as a physical single sold, rather than buying the three tracks individually. Just keep that in mind.

but the only one I am actually getting is forward, because I already have the other two via Ayla/

I think its just the album that will be in stores. The single is digital/ amazon only (i think)

Soundscan is the company that montiors sales of all music (albums, singles, digital downloads), and reports the statistics to companies such as Billboard.

She could possibly debut as high as #2, but only time will tell.
